Many pet dogs and cats born or adopted in 2020 have been tagged with pandemic-related names by their owners, according to a recent poll by Rover, the world’s largest pet sitting / dog walking service.
“Generally what we see is what is going on in the world around us is directly reflected in the names we give our pets,” said Kristin Sandberg, a Rover spokesperson.
“Given that this year has been a global pandemic, it has been one of the most interesting in terms of pet names.”
The poll surveyed about 1,000 pet families, a third of which got a pet during the pandemic.
